Great news for SMEs in the EU! The Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund is back in 2024, offering grants to small and medium-sized enterprises to protect their intellectual property rights. With over €20 million allocated, the Fund will be active from January 22nd, 2024, to December 6th, 2024.
Last year, over 35,000 entrepreneurs benefited from these grants, including many of our clients. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity!

The Ideas Powered for business SME Fund programme which offers grant scheme to EU-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the protection of their intellectual property rights has once again started in 2024. The fund will run from 22 January 2024 until 6 December 2024, with more than €20 million available in total funding. Last year, more than 35,000 entrepreneurs benefited from the grants, including many clients of Żuraw & Partners.

According to the details posted on the EUIPO website, in the current edition of the programme, it is possible to apply for a return on:
1. Trade marks and designs
- 75% reimbursement of costs for an EU trade mark or design application;
- 75% reimbursement of costs for a national trade mark or design application;
- 50% reimbursement of the costs of the basic fees for an application for a trade mark or design, the fees for a designation and subsequent designation outside the EU;
– Maximum reimbursement is 1,000 EUR;
2. Patents
- 75% reimbursement for the „Prior Art Search Report”;
- 75% reimbursement of costs for the pre-grant stage;
- 75% reimbursement of application and search costs for European patents filed at the European Patent Office (EPO);
- 50% reimbursement of legal costs for drafting and filing a European patent application, if the relevant conditions are met;
– Maximum reimbursement is 3,500 EUR;
3. Community plant variety
- 75% reimbursement of costs for the online application and examination at EU level;
– Maximum reimbursement is 1,500 EUR;
