On February 20, 2019, the Act on amending the Industrial Property Law was passed. The act was handed over to the President of the Republic of Poland for signature. It will apply from the day after the announcement.
The amendment aims to implement the Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2015/2436 of 16 December 2015 to approximate the laws of the Member States relating to trade marks. It also contains a number of other changes related primarily to trademark law.
